Grandview Children's Centre - Searching for New Executive Director

If your career aspiration is caring for children and youth with special needs in a supportive and progressive setting, here’s a leadership mission you can embrace with open arms. For more than 50 years, Grandview Children' s Centre has been an integral part of the Durham Region community. Under the governance of a dedicated, strategic minded volunteer Board of Trustees, this multidisciplinary outpatient treatment centre works with key community stakeholders to serve children and youth with physical and communication disabilities. The culture is open, compassionate, professional and collaborative. The staff members at Grandview Children's Centre work tirelessly to provide a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care. They assess, diagnose, and consult with clients, when appropriate, as well as their parents and families to establish a plan of care, offer information and intervention as needed and make referrals to appropriate community agencies. As Durham Region has grown, so has Grandview Children's Centre. Among the disciplines it offers are Medical Services, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Audiology, Family Support Services, Therapeutic Recreation Services as well as specialized Orthopaedics, Orthotics and Muscle Tone Clinics.
 
As the next Executive Director, you will continue to foster Grandview Children's Centre team spirit and community connection as you lead and grow the programs it offers to children, youth and families with special needs. Financially, the foundation is solid and your work with multiple levels of government, the Grandview Children' s Foundation, provincial advocacy groups will continue to strengthen Grandview Children's Centre's ability to deliver quality services to children and youth with special needs in a high population growth area.

Your exceptional strategic leadership is critical to ensuring Grandview Children's Centre can navigate planned expansion and the challenges faced in the future. A strategic as well as an operational champion, you will focus on evidence-based practices, expansion of research and integration of services across the sector to provide children and youth with special needs the best support possible, solidifying Grandview Children's Centre's reputation as a Centre of Excellence. As you drive this ambitious agenda, you will continue to expand external partnerships and working relationships. As you anticipate future planned growth and service delivery needs, you will plan for the design and construction of a new greenfield facility. Encourage dialogue, original thinking and open mindedness as you guide the talented people who make Grandview a special place to work.
 
Through your progressive leadership experience in community based organizations and/or the not-for-profit sector, you have built experience working with boards, staff physicians, community physicians and collective bargaining units, government agencies and valued volunteers. You complement extraordinary relationship development skills with business and financial acumen. And perhaps most important, you have a passion for the care of children, youths and families. With Grandview Children's Centre, you will help them to achieve their personal best. You will achieve your personal best.
